Live bands and free lessons in public spaces around Seattle, the Eastside, and south King County. No partner needed, and nobody is watching to see if you get it wrong.
We use grant funding and donations to hire the musicians and the teachers, so the dancing is free at the door. Every event opens with a beginner lesson, and you can learn to lead, to follow, or both.
No ticket, no suggested donation at the door, no membership. Grants and donations cover the band, the floor, and the instructors.
Come by yourself or bring your friends. We rotate partners through the lesson, so there is always someone to dance with.
Every event starts with the basics. Wear shoes you can turn in. That is the whole dress code.

Four Wednesday evenings of free beginner Lindy Hop and swing dance. No partner required, all ages welcome. Register through the City of SeaTac.

Jennifer Lee started the Swing Arts Foundation to center BIPOC, queer, and underrepresented dancers, especially those facing financial or accessibility barriers, and to amplify voices that have historically been excluded from the dance community.
